Section: 11.36.080 Powers
and duties
The commission shall
have the following powers and duties:
A. Act in an advisory capacity to the board of supervisors in promoting,
aiding, encouraging and furthering the interests of aviation at the Del Norte
County airports, including the development of airport policy, facilities and
programs;
B. Act in an advisory capacity to the board of supervisors and to the
director of aviation in the planning, maintenance, development and operation
of all airports and similar facilities owned, controlled or leased by the
county;
C. Formulate and recommend to the board, general policies related to
the purposes of the commission and adopt a department philosophy, objectives,
rules and regulations, subject to the approval of the board, as the commission
may require to facilitate the effective operation of airports in Del Norte
County;
D. Make recommendations
to the Board of Supervisors on the expansion, acquisition, or development of
aviation in Del Norte County;
E. Upon
direction of the board of supervisors, cooperate
with other governmental, civic and private agencies for the advancement of
aviation in Del Norte County;
F. Upon direction of the board of supervisors, conducts such other studies, reports, or investigations as may from time to time be assigned to the commission by the board of supervisors. (Ord. 2001-014 § 3, 2001; Ord. 80‑04 § 8, 1980.)
